In LIVIN’ LA VIDA LUTHERAN (inspired by the Ricky Martin song!) they introduce you to the “6HHP” - the 6 “Happy Heart” petals. Using their tips, you, too, can have a joyful heart. Segments include the Menopause Medley, a disco salute to Hotdish, Lutheran Yoga, and do-it-yourself Beauty Tips. The idea for the “Looney Lutherans” was cooked up in 2006 when the founding members were appearing in the cast of the hit musical CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES. The company has since expanded to include additional “Loonies” - all talented women who have been performing for years as professional actresses, writers, singers, and improvisers. His musical career started in high school with a band called Change of Pace in 1968 and he spent a good portion of his formative years playing at a bar called Polly's Penthouse. He played with Gage Memorial, a nine-piece brass band, from 1972 to 1974 and with Websterjon from 1974-1976. Then, on a full-time basis, he played with Source until late 1978. He is a retired partner/principal of the CPA firm Latta Harris, LLP, and plays on a regular basis with The C.R.
John Hall came to Iowa after completing coursework for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Bass Performance from the University of Memphis in 1997. He holds a Master of Music degree in Bass Performance from the University of Georgia. John's younger years were spent playing rock and roll and R&B on the Southeastern gulf coast circuit, touring with bands through Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. A return to school led him to a career of teaching and performing orchestral music and jazz study. His background in education involves twenty-two years as an orchestra director in the Cedar Rapids Community Schools, as well as visiting artist appointments in bass at the University of Northern Iowa, Augustana College, Cornell College and Coe College, where he currently teaches. John has appeared on recordings with Craig Erickson, Billy Lee Janey, Al Naylor, Orchestra Iowa and the Corridor Jazz Project. He currently performs locally in Eastern Iowa with Confluence, The Invisible Band, Funkstop and Soul Sacrifice.
John O’Connell Born and raised in Cedar Rapids, John was attracted to the drums at an early age. John was a child of 60’s rock and roll and Motown. John’s first legitimate drum set was given to him by his parents with the hope that playing would become a lifelong passion. It did. Playing in local bands honed his playing and listening skills as well as his confidence. In high school, John was introduced to jazz and new opportunities opened up. At the crossroads of rock and jazz, John waited impatiently. Playing in horn bands was a joy throughout high school and college. After a ten-year absence to get married and raise a family, the drums beckoned. An empty nest doesn’t mean a quiet one. John still plays in bands, and his 10 grandchildren regard him as the “cool grandpa”.

The SUNSHINE BOYS
By Neil Simon
DATES: Sept 25-27
SHOW TIMES:
Fridays & Saturdays: 7:30 pm
Sundays: 3:00 pm
ABOUT THE SHOW
Al and Willie as “Lewis and Clark” were top-billed vaudevillians for over forty years. Now they aren’t even speaking. When CBS requests them for a “History of Comedy” retrospective, a grudging reunion brings the two back together, along with a flood of memories, miseries, and laughs. The story follows the attempt by a young theatrical agent to reunite his elderly uncle, a former vaudevillian great, with his long-time stage partner for a TV reunion. Despite their celebrated reputation, the two old men have not spoken in twelve years. Besides remastering their sketch, the two men have numerous issues to work out before they are ready to return to the public eye.
Reviews:
“It’s ham on wry [...] Simon’s sure-footed craftsmanship and his one liners are as exquisitely apt as ever.” – New York Post
“Another hit for Simon in a shrewdly balanced, splendid and rather touching slice of the show biz life.” – New York Daily News

A 1940's RADIO CHRISTMAS CAROL
By: Walton Jones, David Wohl, Faye Greenberg
DATES:
DEC 4, 5, 6
11, 12, 13
SHOW TIMES:
Fridays & Saturdays: 7:30 pm
Sundays: 3:00 pm
ABOUT THE SHOW
Your heart will sing with this long-awaited sequel to the popular1940's Radio Hour. It's Christmas Eve, 1943, and the Feddington Players are now broadcasting from a hole-in-the-wall studio in Newark, NJ, and set to present their contemporary "take" on Dickens's A Christmas Carol. Whether it's the noisy plumbing, missed cues, electrical blackouts, or the over-the-top theatrics of veteran actor, but radio novice, William St. Claire, this radio show is an entertaining excursion into the mayhem and madness of a live radio show. St. Claire's escalating foibles and acting missteps propel the show to a simultaneously comedic and heart-wrenching dramatic climax: St. Claire has an on-air breakdown and begins to connect his own life with that of the classic Dickens tale. In order to "save the show," the company improvises an ending to Charles Dickens' classic as a film noir mystery, featuring a hardboiled detective, a femme fatale, and an absurd rescue of Tiny Tim (and the Lindbergh baby) from the clutches of a villain named Rudolf!
